Azul launched flights yesterday (9) connecting Belo Horizonte (MG), Curaçao, in the Caribbean, and Fort Lauderdale, in the United States. In addition to the new direct connection between Curaçao and Fort Lauderdale, which debuted today (10), the number of flights to the Caribbean island doubled, going from two weekly flights to four.
One of the major innovations was the inclusion of the international route from Curaçao to Fort Lauderdale, which is another option for tourists and residents of the island to travel to Florida, in the United States. The route between Belo Horizonte and Curaçao began on June 24, 2023, with a weekly frequency and, in less than a year, was expanded to two. Now, the Company, in partnership with the Ministry of Economic Development of Curaçao, the Curaçao Tourism Office and Invest Minas, has increased the number of flights and seats departing from BH Airport by 100%.
The island is located in the Caribbean Sea and is already one of the most sought-after international destinations by Brazilians, according to a survey by Azul Viagens, Azul's tourism operator. Curaçao offers a variety of outdoor activities, such as diving, snorkeling, windsurfing and others. The beauty of its beaches, with various shades of blue, its capital with Dutch architecture, its climate and the welcoming nature of its people have enchanted Brazilians. In one year of operating on the island, Azul has already transported more than 22 thousand Customers and operated more than 170 flights between Belo Horizonte and Curaçao.
Flights are available on the Azul website, at the sales center or at partner travel agencies.
