Avianca Brasil requests permission to operate in the USA.

On 17/02, Avianca Brasil made a formal request to the US Department of Transportation to start cargo operations in the country, the operation will be carried out with the current Airbus A330F that makes up the fleet, as can be seen in the section below.

“OceanAir seeks to begin US operations with as many as three weekly all-cargo flights between Miami, on the one hand, and Sao Paulo, Manaus, Campinas/Viracopos and Curitiba, on the other hand. OceanAir intends to serve these routes as market conditions warrant via Quito, Santiago, Buenos Aires, Lima, Bogota and Medellin. OceanAir will use A330-243F aircraft dry subleased from Aerovias del Continente Americano SA (Avianca). Anticipated southbound cargo is general cargo, while northbound cargo will consist mainly of perishables such as fish and produce. OceanAir intends to commence enger operations to the United States later in 2015.”

In addition, the available file informs that commercial enger operations will begin at the end of 2015, implying that OceanAir (Avianca Brasil) may receive its A330-200 PAX later this year.
