Braspress Air Cargo received the Air Operator Certificate (COA) from ANAC (National Civil Aviation Agency), therefore, the new airline is approved to begin operations.
The authorization was published in the Official Gazette of the Union, on April 24th, when the announcement was made by the Company at the closing of Intermodal South America 2025, the largest event in the logistics, cargo transportation and foreign trade sectors in Latin America.
The certificate was presented to Urubatan Helou, CEO and founder of the H&P Empreendimentos e Participações group, of which BAC is a part, by the CEO of ANAC, Roberto Honorato, and by the superintendent of operational standards at ANAC, Bruno Del Bel.
At the meeting, ANAC representatives highlighted the potential of the air cargo segment, which in 2024 ed the movement of 1,38 million tons on domestic and international flights, around 9,9% higher than the 1,25 million tons in 2023, and the importance of companies structuring their operations and complying with the operational requirements demanded by the Agency to use this mode, as Braspress Air Cargo did.
Urubatan Helou then presented details about the new national airline that required investments of around 40 million reais.
"We should start our operations in the next 20 days, initially on the Viracopos-Manaus-Viracopos axis. The volumes and goods we intend to transport are already within our business portfolio.
We already operate successfully throughout the country by road, river and air transport, and we still need to reach the air transport market on our own.
And as we are unhappy with the fact that high value-added goods take 16 days to arrive in Manaus (AM) by road-river, we created BAC precisely so that we can provide this type of transport for this type of product, which has a value capable of paying for a slightly more expensive transport fee, but with a range of total efficiency”, explained Urubatan Helou.
The company's operations involve two Boeing 737-400F, but for operations, only one will be used, while the other will be used as a backup to ensure regular flights.
